Durga Puja in Chakauti is celebrated every year since 1924, when Late Lootan Jha, the great devotee of Mother Goddess established the Puja at  Durga Sthan in the eastern outskirt of the Village. Since then people from over the area, and several from far and beyond pay their homage to this temple, which has during the past decade developed into a beautiful shrine with  a stage for cultural events in front of the temple. The development of the temple is directly due to the continuous painstaking efforts of enthusiasts like Nagender Mukhiyaji, Kashi Babu, Jaggi babu, Mohanji, Bhola babu, Major Saaheb  and to the several young entrepreneurs whose list is still growing.
The cultural events with its Bhakti Sangeet, Drama and skits, Cinematic shows, Wrestling, and swings for the kids do play a great role in the celebrations.  Once I get more reports from first hand witnesses to these events held this year, I plan to post them on this blog.

This years Puja  Samiti was Chaired by Shri Yaggi Mishra and was assisted under the secretaryship of Shri Chandra Mohan Thakur. The details of the Puja event have been posted in the blog "Chakauti Village" :
and clips of the cultural events are available on Facebook and You Tube.
