Dear Sir,

While we are all busy building India and its image, there are a few dark corners long neglected. Recently, I visited my home in Village Chakauti, of Bokhra Block(earlier in Nanpur Block) in Sitamarhi district, Bihar, where the villagers had deposited their initial money for electric connection years back to the Electric Supply Division Sitamarhi in 2001-2002. However, no action has actually been taken on ground to electrify the village so far.

The plight of the villagers, lack of proper education, agricultural backwardness, complete lack of industrialisation, unemployment among its youth and the sheer helplessness of all the villagers are all directly attributed to non electrification of the Village. While all the villages around Chakauti are electrified, the Village Chakauti is the lone one in the area groping in dark, facing huge number of problems due to non electrification.

I promised the villagers that I will let their plight be known to the Power Secretary in Delhi with a hope that he might activate the system to electrify our village.

Unfulfilled Promise of Electrification by the Government of India

Dear Sir,

This has reference to your e-mail to Secretary, Ministry of Power regarding electrification of your home villages Chakauti in Sitamarhi district.

The matter has been got checked up. GOI has launched Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana for electrification of un-electrfied villages, intensive electrification of electrified villages and to provide free connections to BPL families. A project under the scheme has beensanctioned for the district Sitamarhi also. Chakauti village was not included under the project by the state for electrification as it was declared as electrifed earlier. However, during detailed survey during implementation of the sanctioned project, it was found that the village has got de-electrified. A supplementary project has been prepared to cover the village.

The RGGVY was for X Plan only. The proposal for continuation of the Scheme for XI Plan is under consideration of the Govt. The supplementary project will be sanctioned after approval of the scheme.

Dear Mr. Hussain,

Welcome to Sitamarhi as Superintendent of Police.

I need your help in dealing with crime situation in my village Chakauti in Bokhra Block . I find the crime situation there is out of control these days. The situation has gone worse now.

I need to draw your kind attention to recent serial robberies in four houses in the Pandit Tola Chakauti where half a dozen robbers from the village locked the residents in their houses and took away valuables.

The situation is not better in other areas in the village and you need to assess it. I feel there is necessity to station a small police post in the village, because it is very far away from Nanpur or Pupari Police Stations, and culprits get away unnoticed and unreported to the police.

Could you kindly help the villagers by looking into the situation and increase vigilence and security?

I had an idea while chanting शिवसहस्त्रनाम  by राजर्षि भागीरथ from देवीपुराण(महाभागवत). King भागीरथ went for penance and prayer to Lord शिव  with a view to help out his forefathers and ancestors’ from their decline and miserable state by requesting the Lord to allow गंगा to descend on earth and then proceed to पाताललोक  to salvage the souls of his forefathers and ancestors.

I, on my part, can at least pray Lord शिव and Mother शक्ति and through them to all those who can help bring energy(solar and electrical) to  village चकौती  so that energy can bring life to the village which is devoid of activities for want of energy. I do know that for want of energy there is very little developmental activities and the people who can, do flee the village in seach of education, job and livelihood. Only those people stay in the village who cannot manage livelihood elsewhere. Lack of development leads to Poverty, destitution, and illnesses which further retard  education, health care, food, sanitation,living standard, transportation, communication and what not. Thus, I desire to  bring energy to the village. The noble cause I need to pursue immediately.

Thus, I have been in touch with the Ministries of Power as well as Non Conventional Energy in the Governments of India and Bihar to expedite electrification of the Village and provision of Solar lights to the village for the last three years.

During this दुर्गा पूजा , I was glad to note that there has been progress in the development work in this direction and several people in the village are taking active interest in it.May Mother Goddress Bring Peace Progress and Prosperity to the Village.
